VILLA, HAMMERS SUBMIT BID FOR PHILLIPS

Two Premier League teams have made offers for Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips as reported by the Football Insider. It was revealed that West Ham United and Aston Villa are interested in the England international and they have each followed up their interest in the player with a bid. However, Premier League champions Manchester City are the preferred destination for the Englishman.

WILL CITY WIN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE?

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has taken his City side to the semi-final of a Champions League campaign for the first time since he was appointed as the club:s manager, and there are high hopes within the club that he could well guide them to a title triumph this time around as well. In the previous campaigns, the Spanish manager had never gone beyond the quarter-final of the competition, with many criticizing him for being unable to go beyond that stage despite always spending huge sums on transfers.

Pep Guardiola delighted with Sergio Aguero’s performance against Arsenal

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has expressed his delight over the performance of Sergio Aguero in the 3-1 triumph over Arsenal. The Citizens were on the wrong side of a shock 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United earlier in the week but they managed to make amends by beating the Gunners with Aguero starring with a 10th Premier League hat-trick.

Speaking after the game, Guardiola was pleased with the showing of Aguero, who managed to score for the fourth successive match across all competitions, he told Sky Sports: “Everybody knows about his [Aguero's] goals. It's important how you fight, so I think he is incredible. I know it is not for his body to run like Gabriel [Jesus] or Bernardo [Silva] or the other ones, but he tried to do absolutely everything and that for the team will never be a problem for us. Of course he scores a lot of goals and in that way it is important.”
