SALAH SETS MULTIPLE RECORDS AGAINST UNITED

Mohamed Salah has been in sensational form for Liverpool this season and Manchester United were his latest victims when the top two traditional English teams met at the Theatre of Dreams on Sunday evening. Mo Salah scored three goals within the space of twelve (12) minutes and either side of the half-time interval to propel his team to an emphatic away win over Manchester United. The Red Devils were on the end of a 5-0 thumping at the hands of their arch rivals in front of their home fans.

Mo Salah scored one of the goals in the last league game at newcomers Watford to take him level with Chelsea legend Didier Drogbaas the highest goalscorer amongst African players. His goal against the Hornets took him level with Drogba on 104 Premier League goals as Liverpool thumped the newly promoted team 5-0 away from home. The Egyptian was able to set a new record for the most goals scored by an African with hishattrick against Manchester United on Sunday.

Salah added two goals in the last seven minutes to edge Liverpool 4-0 ahead after Naby Keita and Diogo Jota had given the Reds a two-goal advantage inside the first thirteen (13) minutes. The Egyptian national team talisman completed his treble five minutes after restart thereby taking his Premier League tally to 107 goals.

The third Mo Salah goal wrapped up the big win for Liverpool as they moved back to within one point of leaders Chelsea on the Premier League log. As things stand, the top three teams of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City are separated by two points after nine games.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba started the Liverpool game on the bench and he came on at the half-time break. The Frenchman lasted 15 minutes on the pitch before he was sent off for a bad challenge on Guinean international Keita. Liverpool had scored all their five goals before Pogba was sent off as they recorded their biggest win over their arch rivals in Premier League times. The result also equalled their biggest defeat in the Premier League era.

With his treble, Mo Salah made history as the first player to score a Premier League treble at Old Trafford as he took his tally to 15 goals and five assists in 12 matches in all competitions.
