There is some good news for the fans of the England national football team. They might be able to see one of their key players Theo Walcott playing in the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
A Scot doctor Gordon Mackay has said that he can help the Arsenal striker get back to full fitness in just about 15 weeks or so. That means Walcott would be able to represent the Three Lions in the World Cup which will start in the second week of June.
Walcott had got injured while featuring for the Gunners in their last game against Tottenham Hotspur and that injury straightaway looked quite serious. He was in a lot of pain and was not in a condition to go off the pitch on his own. He was carried out with the help of a stretcher.
Later on, the tests revealed that he had done some serious damage to his ligament and it would take him about half a year to get fit again. The Three Lions supporters were gutted to hear that as Walcott has been one of the most consistent English players in the last 1 year or so and his absence in the World Cup would not help the England team at all.
But, after what Mackay has said, the England fans would be breathing a sigh of relief. However, it would be interesting to see if Arsenal allows the Scot doctor to treat Walcott or not.
Mackay is believed to be getting in touch with the Arsenal officials in a couple of days’ time, may be on Wednesday.
Mackay has treated some big sportsmen in the past and has helped them recover from their respective injuries quite quickly. He is known for his alternative treatment procedures.
